Silent Servant (Official)
Ø [Phase] (live UK premiere)
The next edition of ‘Curates’ lands in EC1 courtesy of Rødhåd. As a wizard in loop based techno and boss of the Dystopian label, Rødhåd’s profile has in recent years expanded well beyond the reach of his Berlin native land. Striking a curious balance between hard-hitting sounds with elements of melody, Rødhåd’s unique approach to structuring sets has made him well-versed in affecting dance floors into a state of hypnosis. Rødhåd will be headlining Room One with an extended set, meanwhile he’ll be picking a range of acts to complement him with the same care he puts into crafting his singular sound. Speaking of the chance to take over full programming of the building, Rødhåd told us:
“I want to thank fabric for trusting me to invite some of my favourite artists and producers at the moment. Last time I was meant to play was at the 17th birthday, which couldn’t happen because of the club being closed, so now I’m especially looking forward to being back in the holy basement alongside so many of my favourites. Of course, this line-up also wouldn’t be complete without one of the most important things: that’s YOU, you girls and guys and supporters in London and around the world. London and the UK welcomed me warmly years ago and I am more than happy to be sharing this evening with all of you. So, make a note for Friday 24th March. See you at fabric!”
Joining Rødhåd in Room One is an affiliate to coveted imprints Sandwell District and Semantica and purveyor of ambient techno Silent Servant, alongside Token signee Ø [Phase] making a UK live premiere of his enigmatic live set. The Room One bill is rounded off by an appearance from London resident and curator of the Neighbourhood party, Tasha.
Over in Room Two, Rødhåd programs the room with a nod to his Berlin-based label, Dystopian. Signees Monoloc and Jon Hester land in the building to showcase the label’s hazy approach, while Nonstandard Productions boss and experimental techno producer Tobias. makes a live appearance to round off this full-on techno affair.
