ACT offer two decades of experience in leading this evolutionary style of theatre making.
«This sweat and blood approach transforms the ethereal world of performance into a corporeal, tangible, lived presence. The performer’s body thus becomes the technique and knowledge is generated through the training body. The body becomes the tool and the cognizant at the same time. Its been a lesson in humility for all participants here, since they are constantly pushed to challenge their own imagined boundaries and emerge with new courage every time. It is nothing like anything experienced before from any workshop till date, and every performer should attend a workshop by ACT once in their lives»
For those considering the Actor Chorus Text Ensemble Practice for the first time, our company of international practitioners host a comprehensive training that draws on the director's 7 years as principal with legendary physical theatre company, Gardzienice in Poland. ACT makes the profundity of the Eastern European style of physical theatre accessible through a system of naturalization of the body and its partners — actor, ensemble, space, acoustic and properties. Unique to ACT it is as much a text based practice as it is musical and physical, every improvisation is organically directed toward the 'Acting' story.
Open to people from all backgrounds from 16 years up
«I feel a sense of relief or liberation, maybe. Having always lived with a sense of „I can't“ in anything related to performance, this workshop has helped me take a big leap. The great thing is nothing else (within my imagination) would have been as intense and at the same time, as accessible for a beginner iike me».
Regular trainees £90

«I am in complete awe of Anna-Helena Mclean. A supremely gifted theatre practitioner, a musician extraordinaire, an energy so bountiful that keeps you gasping and engaged for hours on end, a woman so playful, she makes the hardest tasks the simplest. Headstands, handstands, backflips, partner work, original compositions, intense stamina and vocal chorus work, 24 people including artists, actors, musicians in one room for 3 days, make the word R.O.C.K.E.T seem weak!»
