After 7.5 years and over 80 shows the Hackney Bicycle Film Society is calling it a day. Better to leave when you are doing well and the organisers have other things to do, in the over seven years we have been running cycling has gone from strength to strength but the world is a very different place and now is the time for action. For or final show we will be showing two classic films we have never yet shown plus the usual compliment of short films for starters. The Impossible Hour and Vive the Tour
The Impossible Hour is a concentrated study of Ole Ritter's attempt in Mexico City in 1974 to set a new record for the hour — described in the film as «the noblest, most difficult record that can be set on a bicycle».
Vive le Tour, Louis Malle presents his energetic evocation of the Tour de France.
