We are the Wildlife — Album Preview Show
“Nature reverberates wonderfully in an alchemy of traditional and contemporary instrumentation, making for an exquisite listen from this post-folk electronic chanteuse” Across the Line, BBC Radio Ulster
“Pleasingly dreamy folk tones but with a strong and haunting undercurrent of otherworldliness...persuasive vocals up close and hushed...unexpected bass intrusions which call to mind the meditative trance compositions of Colleen”
Conor O’Toole, Underground of Happiness
«A singer-songwriter of the highest calibre with the voice of an angel»
Colum Sands, BBC Radio Ulster
We are the Wildlife: The debut solo LP from post-folk chanteuse and songwriter Brona McVittie is steeped in the beauty and majesty of her homeland. Brona recently returned to living in her native County Down after many years in London and has found herself living beside ocean, forest and the Mourne mountains. The stark contrast between the urban chaos of London and the pastoral beauty of County Down has been rich inspiration for her new compositions. Brona will perform with harp, vocals and electronics, accompanied on stage by the multi-talented Richard Curran on cello, voila and violin, the mighty millenial post-rocker Keiron Phelan on flute, and the wonderful Barbara Marion on backing vocals.
Brona is lead singer and harpist for the London Lasses and a member of cult instrumentalists littlebow.
Support from Rosie Hodgson
