Luke Vibert is back with a huge album launch offering a fresh take on where it all began — the Rave scene.
It’s been a long time since the master of mischief burst onto the scene and 20+ albums in as many years later he returns with his latest banger UK Garave Vol.1
A quick delve into Vibert’s back catalogue reveals releases on some of electronic music’s best-respected labels, including Mo Wax, Warp, Planet Mu, Ninja Tune and Rising High and highlights a diverse musical mastery that spans from hip hop to ambient via drum & bass, acid house and electro. The Cornwall born producer’s latest studio album (his third on label Hypercolour), Luke Vibert presents UK Garave Vol. 1, transports the listener back to an era of M25 convoys and aerodrome fields through imaginative samples and nostalgic tropes all infused with Vibert’s cheeky, yet brilliantly inventive style.
Brixton Jamm will provide the canvass for Vibert’s vibrant collage of 90’s garage shuffling breakbeats, spine-tingling synths and rave-fuelled bass lines. Support comes in the fitting form of French Electro-Funkateer Gary Gritness and Ceephax Acid Crew, whose 2016 LP Hardcore Esplinade merged rough breakcore drums with acidic, gameboy-inspired synths.
