The work in this screening explores the physical, psychological and social pressures that are imposed on people by the current housing crisis, with a particular focus on the context of London.
The screening will be loosley split into three sections 'Rental' 'Dystopia' and 'Propositions' and will include moving image work by young artists and writers including: Lucy Clout, Lawrence Lek, Jack Self, Holly White and Laura Yuile.
The screening will be followed by a discussion panel featuring Jack Self (REAL Foundation) Hadrian Garrard (CREATE London) and Linsey Young (Curator British Contemporary Art at Tate).The panel will focus on the effect of housing on aritsts and cultural workers and solutions that might be found in alternative housing models.
