Help Refugees are launching Refugee Week at the Victoria and Albert Museum with a Lecture Theatre take-over:
There will be two sessions during which a panel of refugees, leading voices in the sector and dynamic grassroots representatives will work alongside the audience to come up with action points for our shared future.
12pm — 2pm
During the first session we will focus on the challenges faced by refugees and asylum seekers when they arrive in the UK. Many people who arrive here seeking sanctuary believe that their struggle is over. In reality the asylum-seeking process and the lack of information and support can be overwhelming at the end of a long hard journey.
We will explore areas such as access to information, services and support and look to galvanise ideas of how to move forward collectively.

Hosted by Jack Steadman — Help Refugees
3pm — 5pm
During the second session we will explore the longer-term challenges for refugees in the UK, once they have attained refugee status. We will discuss access to education, higher education, employment as well social integration. We aim to come away with tangible objectives and next steps around how we can all do more to help within our communities.
