Welcome to our annual student-led End of Year Show.
For 3 days only, we would like to share and celebrate with you the culmination of our creative development and hard work at the University of Bath.
This year’s Architecture Degree Show features work from students across years 4, 5 and 6 presented at the Old Truman Brewery, Brick Lane.
The first project of 4th year, the flagship Basil Spence, is carried out in conjunction with civil engineering students, creating an integrated environmental and structural design proposal. Entitled 'City in Motion’, this project reimagines the portal into the historic city of Oxford and proposes the redevelopment of the train station and surrounding area.
The second and final project of 4th year invites students to pursue their own individual interests through a self-constructed brief to the underlying theme ‘The Uncanny’. The product: a thought-provoking display critically examining the notions of community, ecology, and psychology amongst others.
The final year students of the MArch program are provided with the opportunity to study a European city of their choice; this year namely Sarajevo, St Petersburg, Larnaka, Tallinn, Brussels and Leipzig. Students prepare group urban design proposals in the first semester before going on to develop a section of the masterplan according to their own brief, culminating in the individual thesis projects displayed. The great variety of cultures and projects on offer promise the viewer an immersion into exciting proposals across the continent.
We are really excited that this year we will be part of the Free Range Graduate Degree Show season, and the venue will concurrently be holding exhibitions from other universities. We are also part of the London Festival of Architecture.
