Walthamstow Electronic is a celebration of the full spectrum of Electronic Music, centred on Mirth, Marvel, and Maud, formerly the EMD Cinema, a beautiful Grade II Listed building, and one steeped in music history – it was played by John Coltrane and The Beatles.
The festival is split in two – Daytime, and Night-time – with separate tickets for each (and a cheaper Combined ticket for both). And we’re thrilled with our headliners Leftfield, who will be gracing the decks, and Laetitia Sadier Source Ensemble playing an exploratory and eclectic live show.
We want to appeal to people in the Borough and beyond, and have pulled together a bill to appeal to everyone from the clued-up cognoscenti to the curious.
And alongside the main Daytime and Night-time events we're putting on a free open jam run by Stow-Lab and a second stage with other acts in the main foyer space, all supported by NATIVE INSTRUMENTS and Ableton, as well as the folk at CDR HQ. Andy Smith, ex Portishead DJ, will play a special DJ set 9pm-2am in the main foyer, and the excellent Eastern Front will be playing Balaeric disco treats next door at Ekcovision next door. All of this is FREE!
100% of the event's profits will go to the excellent local food bank Eat Or Heat. We will be collecting (cash) on the night for Eat or Heat, so please do consider a donation if you can, their work is hugely valued (and located just down the road)!
