‘Get ready to see some serious shapes thrown at the Barbican this summer!’, Time Out
Straight from a two-year residency at MoMA, New York, US artist and choreographer, Trajal Harrell, comes to the Barbican for a major summer exhibition (20 Jul–13 Aug). Fourteen of his inventive, playful and sassy works will be performed in the gallery space, allowing you to weave in and out of the live performances. Emotional and exhilarating, the works explore ideas around the body, gender, race, sexuality and culture.
On Wed 2 Aug, take advantage of a rare opportunity to hear the acclaimed dancer in conversation with writer and critic Francesca Gavin for a unique and insightful introduction to his work, life experiences and inspiration. Francesca Gavin is the contributing Editor at AnOther and Sleek magazines, Art Editor of Twin magazine and was previously Visual Arts Editor at Dazed.
