Free the Pelvis to Lift the Spine: Body Rolling for Grounding and Pleasure
Here we consider the hip flexors, some of the most chronicaly held muscles — and look at their relationship to stress and trauma. We'll be releasing these key muscles, creating deep ease in the pelvis. Great for post-partum recovery (no matter how old your children are!), for supporting fertility issues, for athletes looking to improve performance and retain range of motion, for folks with low back pain, and for yoga students looking to gain greater self-awareness, as well as more precision in movement.
Using our own body weight on a small ball, we roll our bodies out, creating space in all of the joints. The result is a greater range of motion all over, and a deep feeling of freedom in the body. It feels wonderful, like a good massage, but offers lasting results.
Healer, teacher, and mentor Leila Sadeghee has spent the past two decades devoted to up-rooting the source of pain and agitation in life through meditation, yoga and deep therapeutic bodywork. Early in her career she had the honour of being mentored very closely by Yamuna Zake, the creator of Yamuna Body Rolling. Leila's long experience brings a great resource to her students in the form of practical information, and her spirited, contemplative nature keeps it fun and soulful.
