Teacher: Michelle Harrison
Michelle is a classically trained ballet dancer and Royal Academy of Dance (RAD) teacher.
Growing up in Wales she was very fortunate to have her formative ballet training with inspirational teachers Maria Barinowsky and Miriam Riseborough. She was a Junior and Mid-Associate with The Royal Ballet for five years, joined London Junior Ballet for two years and attended several renowned ballet and contemporary dance summer schools. At the age of sixteen Michelle made the big move to London to attend the prestigious, full-time vocational Central School of Ballet; graduating with a Foundation Degree in Professional Dance. Her passion was teaching so she furthered her higher education with a Bachelor of the Arts Degree in Ballet Education from the RAD Headquarters; graduating with Honours and specialising in choreography. She also achieved the Licentiate qualification (meaning she is a specialist in the work of the RAD) and her Advanced II vocational ballet examination. As a result she was invited to become an Associate member of the RAD with Registered Teacher Status.
Michelle has taught in private dance institutions, community projects, nurseries, primary and secondary schools, colleges and as an Associate Class teacher on behalf of the RAD. She had great success teaching in Canada for two years; winning awards at top North American dance competitions and staging theatre shows. Her extensive experience entering students for examinations, class awards and competitions gives her a wealth of knowledge and the confidence to ensure each student always reaches their full potential.
Michelle teaches with energy, enthusiasm and positivity. She instills discipline and good etiquette whilst maintaining a warm, nurturing encouraging environment. She firmly believes every student is beautiful and can benefit from ballet training.
