This is a Free Talk, which Raffaello will do prior to the full Weekend Workshop:
When it comes to love and relationships, we are living in a sort of limbo. The old models of relationship (traditional heterosexual marriage, nuclear family) do not fully satisfy us, but the new models of love are still experimental and they don’t feel fully safe.
Most of us live somehow in between the old models of relationship and the new, experimental ways. We travel, meet people from all over the world, experiment with different lovers. Then, one day, we wake up with an unexpected longing for a “traditional” family, for security and predictability. And still, we fear compromise, and don’t want to leave our freedom and independence. We are full of contradictions.
And what about sex? If we ever thought that we knew all about sex, it’s now clear to most of us that we really don’t know much. We intuit that sex is more than just physical enjoyment, but we don’t know how to activate sexuality’s hidden potential. Some of us become interested in looking in Tantra, go to workshops on sexuality, try out a few new tricks, but soon we discover that these new approaches force us to reset all our assumptions about sex and start from scratch. We freak out, and fall back to the old sexual habits, which can’t satisfy us any longer.
Secretly, we may sometimes wish that we had lived a couple of generations ago, when there was less freedom and, we imagine, less confusion.
But in fact, we are fortunate to be living in these times of change, being the bridge between old and new models of love. Times that are rich with new possibilities and challenges. Times of new beginnings.
What we need are tools to navigate the emergence of the new models, and we need discernment to save what is worth of the old models. We need to come together and play, discuss, experiment, and share our experiences around relationships and sexuality. It is impossible, today, to continue developing our intimacy and sexuality just “behind closed doors”. Our loving wants to be taken out in the open, where it can breathe fresh air, and gather the wisdom of those around us.
In this free talk, you will become familiar with “conscious relationships”, a framework that is emerging globally as a response to the challenges of love and sex in our times. Conscious relationships are not a rigid set of rules, but rather a toolbox, where the common element is the intention to bring more consciousness and awareness to intimacy and sexuality.
We will present some of the basic tools and ideas underlying conscious relationships, ideas that are as revolutionary as they are completely natural and based on common sense.
We will tackle questions about as jealousy, communication, language, dealing with emotions, personal responsibility, and many more – not looking to give answers, but rather offering new views and tools for each one of us to find their own unique response.
If you feel that your intimate/sexual life can use an upgrade, whether you are single or in any kind of relationship, coming to this talk will provide an excellent introduction into a new way to live and love.
