37 striking miners were shot down by South African police on 16 August 2012 while protesting brutal exploitation and dire living conditions. Five years later, no one has been held accountable for their deaths. Families have received no compensation and living conditions continue to decline. But the community is still fighting for justice.
Join us for this protest action outside Lonmin headquarters to remind them that they have yet to be held accountable for their role in the #MarikanaMassacre. We will also be calling on Lonmin to fulfill their Social Labor Plan obligations, which included providing 6000+ houses to the residents of Marikana. To date they have only built 3 show houses and there seems to be no intention of providing any more.

Marikana deserves justice and we will continue the struggle for as long as it takes.
“We demand justice for all those killed. Our hope is that this trip to Britain will bring that demand to Lonmin's door so that we can be heard. We are looking for a better life for our community." – Primrose Nokulunga Sonti
Organized by the PACSF and Marikana Miners Solidarity Campaign to commemorate the 5th Anniversary of the Marikana Mining Massacre.
