THIS MONTH

The Bulletproof Bomb

The Bulletproof Bomb, a brand new five piece band from greater London. Members – Joel Douglas, Mike Hendry, Thomas Butler, Robbie Cottom and George Thompson. At the age of 18 the band came on to the scene last year and have already built a reputation for their raucous guitar driven sound and explosive live performances.

Originally the band started off as only two of the original members (Joel and Mike) writing and recording demos in their bedroom. After gaining interest from publishers The Bulletproof Bomb evolved into a five piece set up so they could play their music as a live band.

The band self released two singles last year through Paper Round Records ‘Suitcase’ and ‘Five Green Bottles’ which gained unprecedented support from the likes of Zane Lowe and the second single even ended up on the BBC Radio 1 playlist. This lead on to the band landing some great gigs playing the likes of Bestival, Boardmasters and headlining the BBC Introducing stage at Reading & Leeds.

The band are published by A Songs and managed by Anglo Management. All the bands material has been recorded and produced by Rory Attwell (The Vaccines, Yuck and The Palma Violets) in one of the coolest and most unique studios in London ‘The Lightship 95’. After laying down the foundations last year the band have been hotly tipped for 2015. Get ready, The Bulletproof Bomb are about to explode!

The Velvet Hands

The Velvet Hands With various comparisons to “early Rolling Stones”,new Cornwall/London rockers, The Velvet Hands are, according to feedback so far; “a wonderful mess, a soundtrack for demolition.” (Tom Robinson, BBC 6 Music) with “snarling vocals and intense riffs” (GigSlutz) that is “full of bolshy spirit.” (NME). Very much looking and sounding the part, they encompass elements of The Strokes, The Stones and the Clash in their Garage rock n roll story telling. There is swagger in their tunes but sufficient depth in what they're saying to be taken seriously. They may be fresh faced, but these are not nursery rhymes. The band revealed themselves to the general public in Autumn 2015 with the self released double A CD & download 'Games' / 'Who Cares'. Born to be on a stage, their youthful adrenaline is tinged with their small but lively following as part of the show. Being licensed to thrill got them sharing stages with the likes of Yak and The Bluetones, while collecting a healthy amount of very cool festival slots. The Velvet Hands made an impression on 2016. In March, 'Habit' (JamX Recordings digital) was a Track Of The Week on influential music site Little Indie Blogs and Video Of The Day on another, God Is In The TV. For April's Record Store Day, they released 'Trains'/'Curtains' for classic alternative music label, Easy Action Records. The 300 white 7” vinyls sold out on the day.

The Harringtons

Over the last 12 months The Harringtons have been gigging up and down the UK! Supporting bands such as The Sherlocks, The Spitfires, Tom Hingley(Inspiral Carpets) and Horace Panter(TheSpecials). The fresh three piece from Sheffield ooze stage presence with their Marr-esque riffs and Jagger vocals!
