Screening In Competition as part of Open City Documentary Festival's Emerging International Filmmaker Award, the documentary uncovers the mysterious Arctic mining town, Norilsk, originally built by Gulag prisoners and closed to all non-Russians since 2001. Journey beyond the mills and factories' billowing smoke and sulfur to discover the nickel miners who ponder their lost Soviet comradeship and the descendants of prisoners who desperately want to shed light on Norilsk's long-buried, dark past.
