Every year Network holds a Pitch Party to share ideas for potential 2018 season productions. What plays would you like to see put on at Network Theatre? Everyone is welcome to throw in suggestions for shows you'd like to direct, act in, or just watch!
So what do we need from you? Read on to find out:
I HAVE AN IDEA
If there's a piece you'd like to see on at Network come and tell us about it. We'll be interested in the genre, cast size, technical requirements and why you think it's worth doing. We may ask you to present a brief pitch to everyone.
(If you don't want to direct the piece yourself this is a good chance to pitch to potential directors and perhaps get a production team on board.)
I HAVE A PIECE OF NEW WRITING
We love hearing from writers with new pieces that could be suitable for Network. The process at the pitch party is very similar to above — we'll ask you to tell us about your idea. But there are also two more steps:
1. Send us details of your proposal as soon as possible and no later than Friday 25 August — include a synopsis, character list and descriptions and a sample scene. Let us know whether you have a director attached (including if you intend to direct it yourself) or if you are seeking a director for the piece. These should be sent to [email protected]
2. Ensure you have a complete script available by the pitch party itself and that it can be distributed digitally to anyone interested and sent to the email address above by September 16th.
I JUST LIKE PARTIES AND TALKING ABOUT THEATRE
You are the most important part of the pitch party! Whether or not you have any specific ideas, we need your thoughts on what you'd like to see at Network. After each pitch we will ask for questions from the group. Also the bar will be open!
After the pitch party the committee will consider all suggestions and may contact potential directors with further questions before deciding on the 2018 season. Rights must be available for any pieces selected.
