For who's not familiar with the act, Battleme is the brainchild of singer songwriter Matt Drenik. In the summer of 2010, Drenik relocated from Austin, Texas to Portland, Oregon to solely focus on the project. He built a studio in the basement of his house and began recording the demos of what would become Battleme’s self-titled debut full length together with Drenik's own solo EP, 'Big Score', released on his own imprint Get Loud. After signing to Warner subsidiary label El Camino (LA, CA), Battleme has already released an EP, the full length album 'Future Runs Magnetic' and new full length 'Habitual Love Songs', critically acclaimed by publications like Billboard, Paste Magazine and The Rolling Stone. In the meantime, since 2007 Drenik had also been working as a music writer for the TV shows Californication and Sons of Anarchy, from which his work is most known. Several Battleme songs appeared in Sons of Anarchy season 3, including a cover version of Neil Young’s «Hey Hey, My My,» which has received over 20 million YouTube views and several remixes.
