UNITY is back at Rye Wax in Peckham, and for our second event, we're pleased to welcome Luca Schiavoni and Shimmy for the afternoon and evening.
London-based DJ and radio broadcaster, Luca started DJ’ing in 1996 in Italy, inspired by the sound of US house music.
His musical influences include all things deep and atmospheric; while firmly rooted in house music and techno, they also delve into ambient electronica, abstract jazz, afro, and dub.
Luca has played at key venues in London (Ministry of Sound, Oval Space, East Village, The Camp) and at critically acclaimed festivals such as Gottwood.
Since 2014, he co-hosts Get A Life!, a small party of eclectic record players. He is also regularly seen playing eclectic sets at Brilliant Corners, a venue which boasts one of London’s finest sound systems.
Luca is also increasingly involved in radio broadcasting. His weekly show E2-E8 is on air every Sunday on East London's newly founded Netil Radio.
With an encyclopedic knowledge of music and an insatiable appetite for playing records, we’re expecting Shimmy to bring a bag loaded with choice vinyl from his extensive collection, which Sash has spent many an hour searching through, at the numerous after-parties that he has hosted. Don’t sit out on this set!
Joining the Luca and Shimmy as always will be UNITY residents and hosts, Sash Dixon and Peter Painter.
