Dr. Shelagh Weir will share her privileged access to surviving Palestinian clothing and vintage fashion, noting style differences during the British Mandate era.
Dr. Shelagh Weir — former Middle Eastern Curator at the British Museum. She curated three exhibitions on Palestinian costume and textiles at the Museum of Mankind, and has published several books on the subject. Her books include: Embroidery from Palestine (University of Washington Press, 2006); Palestinian Costume (British Museum Publications, 1989); Spinning and Weaving in Palestine (British Museum Publications, 1970); and books on Bedouin culture.
