This is the second of a new monthly Pro-Intersectional vegan get together in London.
This meet up is for vegans who are interested in learning about and supporting pro-intersectional veganism: the recognition that the oppression of non-human animals cannot be addressed without acknowledging and addressing human oppression (sexism, racism, etc.).
This month will feature a panel discussion with BME business owners and allies. More info to follow.
The evening will start with 'Community spotlight' and 'Open mic' open to all to raise issues, share resources, events and, to get involved in some of our exciting projects!
And there is FOOD by donation, pay what you can.
Where? The downstairs cellar bar at the Constitution pub, walking distance from Kings Cross and Camden. This venue is not 100% accessible.
When? The 2nd Tuesday of each month.
* If you would like to be involved in planning or have suggestions, please get in touch.
The venue has offered to supply guest vegan drinks (we will be arranging this) and we will place a Barnivore list on the counter.
VOLUNTEERS NEEDED: We are planning to prepare bring on board local food waste for future meetings and will need volunteers to help prepare this with us. If you would like to help please message us on facebook.
*The venue is not 100% accessible.**
Wheelchair access is from the canal side from the Royal College Street entrance (there is a ramp). This is not the ideal space and we are well aware of this. It is free and it is central and private, these were our other considerations. We would like to move the meeting to a fully accessible venue if this proves popular. The toilets are upstairs. The bar is upstairs but we can get the drinks for you.
So come on down and meet like minded people and let's make the magic happen together.
Safe space policy:
This group is open to ALL vegans, whether you live in London or not. There is no level of knowledge you need to attend. HOWEVER, this space aims to make all participants feel as safe and comfortable as possible by prohibiting any hate speech or discrimination of any kind. As this group is based around learning and supporting one another, we encourage all members to help each other grow, while being open to growing ourselves. It is therefore required that all participants do not support oppression of any kind and are interested in working together to actively dismantle these systems within our communities and the broader society.
