We've unearthed unseen tapes of Paradise Garage's closing party in 1987; we've got DJ Harvey to exclusively re-soundtrack that footage; we re-released cult classic «Maestro» over the summer too. It's a lot of special stuff – this calls for a celebration.
On Sunday 26th November we'll be taking over Village Underground to screen both our re-shaped & re-soundtracked «The Final Night In Paradise» plus 2003's «Maestro», then throwing a classic Boiler Room style broadcast party with three of the era's finest disciples, who all have a special connection to this dazzling period of music and culture:
◇ Jamie 3:26, a Chicago hero with all the soul, spark and superior selections of Larry Levan and Ron Hardy in their prime.
◇ DJ Nick the Record, chief of free-spirited raves since the early 90s (Japan's LIFE FORCE the most notable) and one of the world's foremost Arthur Russell completists
◇ Colleen 'Cosmo' Murphy, David Mancuso's close friend and mentee of 25 years, who keeps the spirit and mission of The Loft/Lucky Cloud alive worldwide to this day
The trio will be playing on custom hi-spec sound we're bringing in especially for this event, with additional production chops from Love International Festival / Studio 89's Ben Price. It should make for an evening that does Paradise Garage, The Loft, The Warehouse, Music Box and every other legendary spot of the era proud.
