As a DJ, producer or performer, Ahmed Abduallahi Gallab, better known by his stage name Sinkane, is an extremely versatile musician. He was born not far from the Jazz Cafe in London, before moving to Sudan, followed by a relocation to the US aged 5. It is there that he learned his musical craft, exploring the plethora of musical genres that have now come to characterise his style.
His music blends krautrock, prog rock, electronica, free jazz and funk rock with Sudanese pop, amongst myriad other musical influences and inspirations.
He has released six full-length albums, alongside a host of other projects, including the Atomic Bomb! Band, a supergroup comprised of Damon Albarn, David Byrne, Alexis Taylor and Dev Hynes, which tours performing the music of Nigerian electro-funk pioneer William Onyeabor.
Support will be provided by our resident Dom Servini. Whether by himself or as one half of the Wah Wah 45s, Dom has been filling dance floors since the early 1990s with his beautifully blended, mix of music steeped in soul, jazz and funk.
