The maxim for LUWTEN, Tessa Douwstra's creative conduit, is a simple one: space is the place. Well, maybe not outer space specifically, but a space unburdened by the strain of ones surroundings. A place where only one thing truly matters: the desire to create something that didn't exist yesterday.
Originally from Cambridge, Lunacre spent some time refining their sound in private before sharing debut single ‘Bletchley’. 2015 saw the release of their debut EP, ‘Troupe’, and a growing buzz around the band’s off-kilter sound as they garnered strong support across the blogosphere; being compared to Vondelpark, James Blake, & Mount Kimbie. The successful release of their second EP 'Schtum.', included some good exposure from Spotify playlists and a video premiere from NME. In 2017 amidst their other individual activities, which included producing music/remixes for other artists including Alt-J, David Gray, Alxndr London, & Richard Ashcroft, and designing an award winning adapted bass guitar for the OHMI Trust, the band began work on their 3rd as-yet untitled EP; which is nearing completion and set to be released early/mid 2018.
