To celebrate being a year old and to welcome in 2018 we’re throwing our first shakedown of the year at our East London home this February and inviting two of our favourite DJs down for the night to celebrate with us, in the form of Mina & Tash LC.
Mina is an artist whose reputation has steadily grown over the past two years and with one of the most watched Boiler Room sets of 2017, is a rising star on the London and European circuit. Her vibrant and melodic edits and remixes fuse together rhythms and beats from around the globe, influenced by dancehall, afrobeat, UK funky and beyond. With releases on Branko’s Enchufada and support from everyone from Toddla T to Nina Las Vegas we can’t wait to welcome her to the PBF DJ booth!
Alongside Mina, we have Tash LC, a close friend of our headliner the pair are party collaborators with their now infamous Boko! Boko! events running around London and the UK. In little time London based artist Tash LC has established herself as an assured DJ, host and presenter across both radio and club mediums. Usually found on the airwaves, Tash finds herself at home with residencies on Gilles Peterson’s Worldwide FM and Radar Radio. With the backing of some of dance music’s most influential institutions and an effortless ability to command a dance floor, Tash is quickly becoming one of the UK's most exciting new selectors.
Joining them on the night are the resident PBF & Sounddhism DJs — Artworth Steeling, Omah and Mr Sounddhism — plus Book Club resident Onyeara on warm-up duties. As with all our events, we will be celebrating a mixture of global sounds present, past and future from the Caribbean, South America, and the African continent as well as delving through the outer peripheries of disco, funk, dub, hip-hop and broken beat. Dancing shoes required.
Music Policy: disco, funk, soul, highlife, afrobeat, soukous, dub, hip-hop, broken beat, 2-step and beyond.
