***The People’s Film Club are back and boy oh boy you won’t want to miss this:***
Join us on Tuesday 13th March for a very special screening of 'Pride', which tells an incredible story of queer solidarity in Thatcher’s Britain.
The screening will be followed by a panel discussion focusing on ‘Queer solidarity: the 1980s and now’ featuring the original activists from Lesbians and Gays Support the Miners whose characters feature in the film, as well as activists from Lesbians and Gays Support the Migrants, who do similar activist work in solidarity with migrants.
This event is organised by The People’s Film Club, a group which unites powerful film with the speakers and activists who understand those issues best, with all proceeds going to charity.
This is organised in partnership with Fringe! — an entirely volunteer-run organisation rooted in London's queer creative scene. In Novembers and throughout the year, they showcase an eclectic mix of films, arts and events celebrating LGBTIQA+ stories from around the world, welcoming everybody.
