Maggie Kuzan — freelance art writer and curator living and working in London. Maggie is interested in feminist and queer art practices, and most recently has been reviewing alternative live-art night Deep Trash, which she will be speaking about at the event. Her work has been published in Contemporary Lynx Magazine, The Protagonist Magazine, and on her personal website maggiekuzan.com. She is currently launching a feminist art platform devoted to the sensory experiences of women and non-binary people.

— Alicja Rogalska is a multidisciplinary artist based in London and working internationally. Her practice involves both research and production with a focus on social structures and the political subtext of the everyday. She mostly creates deeply poetic and decisively political situations, performances, installations and videos, often in a specific context and in collaboration with others. Alicja graduated with an MFA in Fine Art from Goldsmiths College and an MA in Cultural Studies from the University of Warsaw. In 2017 she was an artist in residence at KulturKontakt in Vienna and at IASPIS in Stockholm. She was also a recipient of 2016-17 Artsadmin Bursary /London.

— Dominik Czechowski is London-based independent curator, researcher and writer. He has held curatorial positions at Arnolfini Gallery, Bristol; Hayward Gallery; Calvert 22 Foundation; Barbican Art Gallery (all London) and has curated exhibitions, performances and contextual events for institutions such as Freud Museum and Liverpool Biennial. He has developed projects with a wide range of artists such as Laurie Anderson, Wojciech Bąkowski, Robert Kuśmirowski, Pil, Tai Shani, Sun Xun, amongst many others. He is an editor and contributor to artist publications and exhibition catalogues as well as magazines such as MAP and Art Monthly.

— Darek Fortas is a lens-based artist with a strong interest in politics, aesthetics and distribution of power. His practice can be characterised as bridging documentary-style fieldwork with constructed studio practice while sustaining a very formal aesthetic rigour. Darek is recipient of the Camera Clara Prize (The Fondation Grésigny in Paris). He has also been shortlisted for MAC International 2014 Art Prize, BMW Residency Award at Musée Nicéphore Niépce and The Foam Paul Huf Award. His works are included in a number of public and private collections: Institut Polonais Paris, Fondation Grésigny and Pierre Passebon Gallery Paris, UK Government Art Collection. Darek Fortas was among artists selected for Bloomberg New Contemporaries 2017.

— Centrala Art Space is a multifunctional art space in Birmingham run by the Polish Expats Association, a non-profit organisation presenting art from Central and Eastern Europe and the UK. It consists of an art gallery, training centre and artistic café. The aim of the gallery is to create an inspirational place and platform for building social ties. The innovative programme includes socially-engaged contemporary art from Central and Eastern Europe as well as artists interested in the region’s culture, history and socio-political situation.

Contemporary Lynx is an independent magazine on art, design, photography and art collecting, with a focus on Eastern European art. With specially commissioned artwork, bespoke cover and a specific theme, it includes interviews with key figures in the art world and a range of insightful essays that debate current trends in visual culture. Published twice a year.
