Meeting point:

We will be meeting at 1pm at the big entrance to the park on King William Walk, right opposite the Greenwich Tavern pub. You won’t be able to miss us.

Travel:

We’ve been getting LOTS of questions about how to get to the walk, so please see below for suggested routes.

Frustratingly, the DLR isn’t running between Bank and Shadwell on the 18th March due to engineering works, but fear not, there are many ways of getting to Greenwich Park for the walk!

Train / Tube:

I have laid out below some suggested routes for getting to the park from main London stations. There are no doubt other routes too, but hopefully these suggestions will be helpful.

In terms of lines that are operating with no closures, the Bakerloo, Central, Circle, District, Jubilee, Northern and Victoria lines are all fine, and though other lines have some closures, these generally do not affect the whole line. Please check the status of trains on the day in case of any last minute delays or closures.

Option 1: Tower Gateway to Cutty Sark (DLR)

Option 2: Waterloo to Canary Wharf (Jubilee line) then Canary Wharf/Heron Quays to Cutty Sark (DLR)

Option 3: London Bridge to Canary Wharf (Jubilee line) then Canary Wharf/Heron Quays to Cutty Sark (DLR)

Option 4: Victoria to Westminster (District or Circle line) then Westminster to Canary Wharf (Jubilee line) then Canary Wharf/Heron Quays to Cutty Sark (DLR)

Option 5: Euston to London Bridge (Northern Line) then London Bridge to Canary Wharf (Jubilee line) then Canary Wharf/Heron Quays to Cutty Sark (DLR)

Option 6: King’s Cross to London Bridge (Northern Line) then London Bridge to Canary Wharf (Jubilee line) then Canary Wharf/Heron Quays to Cutty Sark (DLR)

Option 7: King’s Cross to London Bridge (Northern Line) then London Bridge to Lewisham (Southeastern Rail) then Lewisham to Cutty Sark (DLR)

Option 8: Charing Cross to Lewisham (Southeastern Rail) then Lewisham to Cutty Sark (DLR)

Option 9: Liverpool Street to Whitechapel (Hammersmith & City line) then Whitechapel to Shadwell (Overground) then Shadwell to Cutty Sark (DLR)

Bus:

Dogs are generally allowed on buses in London, and there are a number of buses which operate in the Greenwich / Cutty Sark area, so this is definitely an option for those of you who prefer not to travel by train. Buses that operate in the area include: 129, 177, 180, 188, 199 and 386

River Boat:

For those of you who are feeling adventurous, a great way to get to Greenwich is via the Thames Clipper. Dogs are allowed (we’ve taken Mildred on and she loves it!) and it’s very comfortable with a small bar/café inside, plenty of seats and you can use Oyster / Contactless cards.

I would suggest looking up the routes yourself, but you should be able to board the boat at Westminster, Embankment, Canary Wharf, Bankside, London Bridge, Tower and North Greenwich Piers.

Greenwich Pier is approx. 5min walk to the meeting point for the walk.

Driving

For those of you coming from further afield or who prefer to drive, there are plenty of places to park in Greenwich.

You can check out parking locations on Parkopedia and at the links below:
