Kevin de Vries
Gary Beck and Wehbba return to the club for Familia’s August instalment alongside Kevin De Vries who plays our Main Room for the first time.
Glasgow native Gary Beck heads up the show in the midst of a heavy summer touring schedule, covering terrain as far-flung as Australia before looping back to Europe, with stops in the Netherlands, Austria and more before touching down in London. With a wide collection of tracks released on Drumcode, Electric Deluxe, Soma and lots more, it’s fair to say Beck is a stalwart to emerge from the UK's techno scene. With a new album coming out later this year and an upcoming EP on his own imprint, Bek ...Audio, Beck is busier than ever and remains a firm favourite both here in London and global dance music realm.
Wehbba is one of Brazil’s most emblematic electronic producers since achieving a distinct sound and style that’s seen him release on Tronic, Bedrock, Soma and many more in the last number of years. A former dentist, there are many strings to the Brazilian producer's bow. Displaying a versatile approach to mixing and production since 2010, Wehbba has gone on to gain support from the likes of Jon Dixon and D’Sean Jones of the legendary Underground Resistance collective, as well as collaborating with Laurent Garnier, Danny Tenaglia and John Digweed — all of whom are just the tip of the iceberg from Wehbba's brimming discography.
Kevin de Vries completes the line-up, a Berlin-based producer whose inevitably caught our attention with pumping releases on Drumcode, Odd Recordings and more in the last few years. Earning support from the likes of Adam Beyer and Tale of Us, De Vries' upward trajectory is set to reach dizzying highlights throughout 2018, and we’re delighted to welcome him on Familia’s booking agenda.
