To mark the anniversary of the ‘Burning of the Books’, Michael Freedland and Daniel Finkelstein discuss Michael’s new book on one of the Jewish Community’s most remarkable and iconic figures, Ben Helfgott — The Story of One of the Boys.
Ben – Olympic athlete and Holocaust survivor – is a hero of our community. He has spent more than half a century tirelessly building institutions that remember the Holocaust and teach the lesson of tolerance. Ben is a founder member and President of the 45 Aid Society, President of the Holocaust Memorial Day Trust, Trustee of the Holocaust Education Trust and on the Leadership Council of the Claims Conference amongst other national and international organisations.
Michael Freedland is a renowned newspaper journalist, broadcaster and biographer.
